Surgery complete!

We have the best news regarding surgery. There was almost no blood lost. Gabriel came through so much better than anyone expected. They said literally as soon as they moved the liver, his oxygen levels came way up. They are cleaning up and doing an xray of the lungs, and then we should be able to go in, probably in about 10-20 minutes!! We can't believe we can go in to see him so soon. The liver is swollen, which they said is normal, so they couldn't close him up yet. He has a temporary patch over his abdomen, which they hope to remove and close him up within the next week, depending on how he does. He is still a sick little boy, and we have been cautioned about bleeding that could still occur, but the prognosis is good now. We are heaving a huge sigh of relief - and can feel you all breathing with us.

God's promises are true...
From Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God . I will strengthen and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Our God is our personal God, I find it useful to insert my own name into scriptures in difficult times.

So do not fear, for I am with you, Wittmer Family; do not be dismayed for I AM YOUR GOD! I will strengthen Gabriel and help Gabriel. I will uphold your family with my righteous right hand!

Josh, Peggy and family,

We were so happy to hear the GOOD news of Gabriel's surgery! Prayers were answered on behalf of this little one. He has sure touched a lot of lives in the short 7 days of his life!!

Thank you for sharing Justin and Kendrick with us today. They were such a JOY. They were so much fun and were so well behaved. You can tell that their parents/grandparents have instilled lots of love and good things into these little boys. I am sure that Little Gabriel will possess the same wonderful qualities that his big brothers have.

Please know that you all continue to be in our hearts and that we are here for you if you need us during this recuperation period!!

Take care..

God is soooo good! His promises are so worthy. I prayed specifically for little or no bleeding and for Gabriel's lungs to 'pop' right open and for him to start breathing...
I know that you will save this blog so that Gabriel can see how many people came together and prayed for him and you all in your time of need.
Thank you again God!!!
